For the first time, I took my little family to the Festival du Bout du Monde, which takes place every August on the Crozon peninsula. Discoveries, music and a complete change of scenery: we tell you all about this escape from everyday life!
Arrival by boat from Brest
We decided that if we had to play the escape card, we'd go all out. Arriving by train in Brest, we chose to take the sea shuttle to Crozon. For us, who had never visited this part of Finistère before, the first thing we did was to cross the Brest harbor! The weather was radiant, the water sparkling... As we were looking for a break from the daily grind, we were already a long way from our metro-bus-bed!
A little history
The Festival du Bout du Monde, or "Boudu", was first held in 2000. It has always taken place around the fort of Landaoudec, an ancient megalithic site on the Crozon peninsula.

The first concerts are about to begin, but our two elves have already spotted the Chapiteau de la Lolotte, specially designed for children. With the help of volunteer entertainers, a wide range of activities are on offer: creative workshops, music, face painting and even an organic snack. We pick up our children dressed as superheroes.
This promises to be the next step!
Did you know?
Admission to the Festival site is free for children under 12.
A program to make you travel
It's music time! Throughout the day, we travel the world thanks to the concerts that take place on the Festival's 3 stages. It's all in good fun: singing, dancing, having fun and making lots of great memories!
Le Boudu in figures
Every year, 60,000 spectators, 35 musical groups from all over the world, 80 partner associations and 1,630 volunteers.
Le Boudu: a culinary world tour
Between two concerts, we take the opportunity to refresh and restore ourselves at the various Festival stands. Cuisine from near and far is in the spotlight, and we take advantage of the opportunity to sample exotic dishes: our taste buds, too, are entitled to a world tour!
Sustainable development
The Festival du Bout du Monde is committed to eco-responsibility through a variety of actions: waste limitation and sorting, local and mostly organic catering, dry toilets, public transport to and from the site...
Accommodation at the Festival du Bout du Monde
Although a campsite is available on the Festival site, we opted for the comfort of a mobile home in a nearby campsite. As we had taken our bikes with us, it only took a few pedal strokes to reach our accommodation for a good night's sleep before starting the second day.
Take the opportunity to visit the Crozon peninsula
We had booked a full week in our accommodation. In the morning, before the concerts started, we took advantage of the Festival shuttles to visit Camaret-sur-mer and the beaches. Once the festival was over, we took the family on a walk along part of the GR34 paths and discovered some of the other highlights of the peninsula. A unique experience, a week of total escape in this pretty corner of the world!
